Steel bar, mil-s-5000, 4340-cond d; heat treat to 180-200 ksi per mil-h-6875; 1.475 inch long; 1.000 inch hex stock; outer surface acceptable in the surface condition specified for the raw material stock; do not paint noted holes or surfaces; apply corrosion-preventative compound to threads only; magnetic particle inspect finished machined partper mil-i-8950, class a; all connecting curved surfaces or curved and plane surfaces shown as tangent must be blended smoothly and mismatch must not exceed 0.005; heat treat to 180-200 ksi per mil-h-6875; any machining after final heat treatment to be per f-f101
