Functional Description:
The inertial reference unit utilizes a set of accelerometers and ring laser gyros to sense aircraft rates and accelerations, computes and provides aircraft attitude, attitude rates, true heading, velocity, acceleration and position information to the c-17 mission computer for navigation and display purposes; attitude rates, heading, ground speed, flight path angle, inertial angle of attack (aoa), aoa rate, side slip angle and side slip angle rate
