Pneumatic; double wall; open-toe; w/full length slide fastener and valve permitting inflation by mouth; 12 gage outer wall; 8 gage inner wall; screw type valve for opening and closing air inflation passage w/knurled external member to which a plastic mouthpiece is assembled; slide fastener made of ester coil w/die cast zinc slide and end stops; inner and outer plastic sheets, slide fastener tapes and valve assembly heat sealed to make item; 37-1/2 in.L from heel to top of slint, 13 in. W at top of splint, 9-1/2 in.W at foot; use in aircraft requires monitoring splint pressure; keep only enough pressure to rigidly support limb; moderate pressure w/thumb will cause only a slight dent when pressed against splint; splints air transported should be kept inflated below 50 mm hg.
